Weekdays: 08:30-16:30 GP/optometrist/AA referral only 17:00-08:00 On call ophthalmologist via switchboard Weekend: Preferable to refer to ophthalmologist on call via switchboard prior to sending patient to A&E. All referrals must be discussed with the ophthalmologist on call, and if accepted to attend via the main A&E, unless advised otherwise. Contact is through the main switchboard. No on-site ophthalmologist between 9pm to 9am. The out-of-hours non-resident on call ophthalmologist can be contacted for clinician to clinician emergency advice and referrals via switchboard.
